If parents need to control their child, there’s nothing wrong with a light slap or physical reinforcement. The line exists when it becomes physical abuse. But as a parenting technique, I don’t see anything wrong with getting physical if it won’t cause any actual harm to the child.
You’re literally just justifying your mom beating the stuffing out of you and making it okay for others to do the same.
And a good parent doesn’t need to resort to physical violence to get through to their kid.
